Baja Mexico fly fishing report ending the week of March 27th 2022

Hi everyone,

In the East Cape this week we started with wind but on Thursday the wind settled giving us great fishing weather. The main bite continues to be yellowtail in the deep water with white bonita ans black skip jack mixed in. These fish once again this week were in water to deep to fly fish in so jigging with light tackle provided all the fun. we are starting to see some marlin in the area and there were a few odd dorado caught this week as well.

Along the beach fishing remains slow. We were able to get out and take a look around and we saw good things. We saw a lot of bait and the water looked decent but un we did not see any fish. We did see some fish working offshore but it was further out than we could get to. Those fish will be on the beach fairly soon Its looming like it will be a good season.

In Cabo and San Jose we continue to see decent fly fishing for Sierra, Snapper, and small jacks inshore.

Offshore the Marlin bite continues off the Light house in Cabo but the majority of the Marlin have moved to the waters off San Jose providing great action for both fly fishing and light tackle anglers We also found some nice rooster fish closer to shore along the beaches in San Jose as well.

we will be in Cabo most of the Coming week and then ending the week back home in the East Cape. Be sure to check back here for the latest conditions. We wish everyone good fishing this week. Until next time tight lines.
