Here is Dean Reiner and his daughter Mandy showing off two rooster fish that they caught from the beach with me early in the week.

Hello everyone,

Fishing here in the East Cape this week has been pretty good.  We started off the week with some beautiful whether and then we got a couple days of wind from the North forcing me to take Dean Reiner and daughter Mandy over to Cabo for a day where they caught some very nice sierra.  The weather turned nice just in time for Dean and Mandy to hook a few nice rooster fish from the beach before returning to Montana where they live.

Over the past couple of days I have been fishing with Christian Motta and Dr. Rick Angelo.  We have had some great fishing for rooster fish with each of them catching quality rooster fish.

Besides the rooster fishing we have had in the area we continue to see some dorado.  Most of them have bee in the area of Punta Pescadero off shore between six and ten miles.  We are starting to see a few more marlin in the area.  The boats are reporting that they are seeing them but they do not want to eat.  We also have some nice bonita in the area that have been bending our fly rods.  If it sierra you are looking for we still have them in the area.  They have thinned out some but you can still find good concentrations of them in the areas of the light house as well as in front of Buena Vista and on up toward Punta Pescadero.

I will be fishing here in the East Cape over the weekend and then it is over to Cabo San Lucas to fish with some guests that are staying over on the Pacific side.  I will be sure to let everyone know how we do.  If spring has not arrived in your area yet and you want to get out and go fishing Baja should be on your list.
