The weather has been hot, hot, hot this week, but the fishing has been good. The fish have been scattered both inshore and offshore, but if you hunt around you will find them.
Beaches: Beach fishing this week has been tough, but even though we’ve only been finding a few roosters, the ones we have caught are big. I had a husband and wife team fishing with me this week, and they are pictured below with their first roosterfish! They had a blast and did a great job.
Offshore: Right now we have plenty of boats fishing for big Humboldt squid offshore and the skipjack, marlin and dorado are following them. We did really well on both tuna and dorado and raised two Blue marlin. Neither of the marlin stuck on the line, but it’s still exciting to have them on the teasers….
About an hour and a half south of us, Inman Bank is seeing an incredible Yellowfin tuna bite with some good-sized dorado in the mix too. Overall, the fishing continues to stay consistent and there are more than enough fish in the area to keep things interesting.
