Hi Everyone,

So, this week we have been in the East Cape region and we are seeing some really good fishing. Dorado has been the top bite of the week with the average dorado size running between 20- 40 pounds.  They are scattered, but are a good size and well worth looking for.

Marlin: The marlin are around, but they are scattered and deep. Be patient, and there is a good chance you will find one or two marlin if you put in the time.

Bonito: Bonito are back for awhile.  They are football-sized but they put up a great fight and are a lot of fun on light tackle. If you find captains who have sardines, get some. Keeping the school around the boat will be easier if you have some live sardines.

Sierra: Sierra are still keeping us busy and we saw a change by a few degrees in water temp this week, so the sierra bite will only improve over the next few weeks as water temps cool down even further.

Next week, the weather should be good and I will be back in Cabo fishing with clients as we target marlin and dorado.  Also, I will soon be posting my schedule of the fly fishing shows that “The Reel Baja” will be attending this upcoming year. It will be great to see old friends and meet new ones as well, so if  you are attending any of the shows, please stop by and introduce yourself.

Tight lines,

Jeff.
