The dorado and bonita fishing remain incredible this week! We had several days that we lost count of how many fish we caught. Also, we have a lot of bill fish in the area which keeps things exciting. Most of the billfish are sails but there are a few marlin mixed in as well. We actually hooked a marlin as we were fishing for bonita which was very exciting.

The best tuna bite is down south. It’s a long boat ride which takes about two hours, but for the die hard tuna anglers the trip is well worth it. Luckily, we do have a few tuna mixed in with the bonita close to home but getting the fly through the bonita and down to the tuna is tough. The dorado bite is fantastic and we are getting great action on top water! Dorado are not big,but there is a lot of fish around averaging 5 – 15 lbs. The bonito however are a very good size (as far as bonita go) and they are averaging 15lbs!

The inshore/beach fishing is OK if you are willing to put in a lot of time for a few shots at some roosters. I have a few friends down this week and we have been looking around the beach to see what we can find… It’s not much action, but enough to keep the die hard interested. The offshore fishery is the place to be and I’m sure we will be at it again in the next day or two.
Tight lines,
