Baja fishing report – It’s been windy but there’s still fish

Hello everyone,

This past week there was not much to talk about here in the East Cape due to the wind. It’s been windy but there’s a few fish. We had wind on most days but there were a couple days that the morning was calm enough to fish. On those couple mornings there were some Sierra caught I know but not many boats went out so that was the only report I got.

I spent a couple days over in Cabo fishing the finger bank for marlin. There are still plenty of fish there providing good action. There was some other action in Cabo as well. There were some tuna with porpoise schools outside about thirty miles as well as a few dorado still hanging around. A little closer to shore the Sierra have started to show up providing good action as well as some jacks and a few roosters.

On the beach here in the East Cape on the non windy days we have seen decent action for small roosters in Palmas bay. They are not big in the three to five pound range but they sure are fun.

I’ll be headed to the U.S. this week for the holidays. I’ll be back in Mexico on the 3rd of January. There will not be a report for about a week or so. I’ll be sure to post the latest as soon as I get home.

We wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We hope to see you in 2023.

Until next time we wish everyone good fishing and a great holiday season.
