East Cape – Baja California Sur
Fishing along the East Cape has remained fair and steady over the past week. The yellowtail bite continues, but most of the action has been down deep on jigs, with very little surface activity for the fly so far. Mixed in with the yellowtail, anglers are also finding white bonita, adding a little variety to the day.

From the beach, opportunities have been better on the calm, clean-water days. Sierra and roosterfish are showing intermittently, and there have been a few occasional dorado cruising the shoreline. It’s not wide open, but for those willing to put in the time, there are definitely fish to be found.
Cabo San Lucas

Out of Cabo, fishing has been a bit more hit-and-miss. Offshore water has turned slightly green, which has slowed things compared to previous weeks. There are still a few marlin around and the occasional dorado, but it hasn’t been consistent.
Inshore, the roosterfish are still present, though the bite has tapered off somewhat. The biggest challenge lately has been bait availability, which has made things tougher for both conventional and fly anglers.
Weather & Conditions
Typical Baja weather for this time of year continues to treat us well, with highs in the mid-70s and lows in the low to mid-60s, and plenty of sunshine most days. We have seen some wind in the East Cape, but this past week was fairly gentle, giving anglers a nice window to get on the water and along the beaches.

Overall, conditions feel like a classic seasonal transition—some good days mixed with slower ones. As soon as we see a return of cleaner blue water and better bait, things should bounce right back. Until next time, we wish everybody tight lines!
