Hi Folks,

Things here in the East Cape have been very slow.  This is due in part by the North winds or “El Norte,” blowing quite strong for the past few days.  The winds have been on average about 22-27 mph daily.  We have calmer winds very early in the morning as well as very late in the day.  If one wants to get up and fish they need to hit the water early before the winds arrive.

I have been doing most of my fishing this past week out of Cabo San Lucas.  We have seen some very good action for smaller Rooster fish as well as Sierra out of Cabo.  I spent a couple of great days with my guest Jim Duke and we had excellent fly fishing for smaller Rooster fish.  The fish were not big.  On average they were between 5-7 lbs. but the action was non stop.

I will continue to be over in Cabo San Lucas this up coming week with guests.  I will be sure to let you all know how we do.

Until then…. keep fly fishing!!
